Water Temps: High 40's to mid 50's Water Clarity: Main lake and creek arms clear with more stain in upper portions of some creeks. Air Temps: Cold and nasty with flurries Conditions: Post cold front, partly cloudy and overcast T1 is over, thank God! After looking forward to the tournament all winter, ole Mother Nature stepped in and once again threw the LVBA a curve ball. Prior week and the week after had temperatures in the 70's to 80's but when we get there we are welcomed with AM air temps in the 30's and highs of upper 40's with snow flurries! Who says there isn't an LVBA weather curse! We just seem to have a knack for picking dates that look perfect and Mother Nature slams us! Well even with the adverse conditions the LVBA faithful brought the fish to the scales. Day one brings Leo (who else) to the scale with 3 nice fish including the big fish of the tournament at 5.44Lbs and a comfortable total weight for Day one of 11.78. Pretty darn good considering the conditions. Then came Stevie with 1 of approx 3.5lbs and Fishhead brought up rear with 1 fish at 3.5 lbs. Ricky D and Harvey the beloved T director also weighed in singles.. Day 2 started with cold temps in the low 30;s, AGAIN, overcast and snow flurries. The fish were cold, the fishing was cold and the anglers were cold, sometimes frozen. I give the entire club members deserved respect for braving the conditions and fishing hard through this tournament. When the day ended and all the fish were weighed, ole Leo hung onto First Place with a total of 11.78 lbs for 3 fish. Fishhead brought up 2nd Place with 2 fish for 6.98 lbs. and Steve held 3rd Place with 2 fish for 5.88 lbs. and that's all folks!!!!. Well done guys for adjusting to the adverse conditions and making a good show at the weigh in. Barren River is up next on the hit parade and I have a feeling we should have kept Barren the way we always fish it, IN THE FALL!! By far this is the best fall lake we as a club have ever fished.
